Montanaro Gallery of Newport, RI will
host a live paint demo / meet the artists featuring Michael Paul Montanaro
and Wade Koniakowsky on Friday, July 25th from 6-9pm at their 18 Franklin
Street location.

Wade Koniakowky, who was a featured
artist in last summer's acclaimed 'Masters of Surf Art' exhibition,
will be arriving from California once again to demonstrate his masterful
oil painting techniques. Wade Koniakowsky is recognized as one of
the leading art figures in both plein aire painting and in his creation
of imaginative surfscapes. Wade will be painting all new polynesian
influenced surf imagery and oceanic works in oil on canvas.

Michael Montanaro, who is one of the two featured artists in the current
exhibition, 'Signs of the Future' , will be carving and printing all
new woodcuts using hand tools, paper, and inks. Michael will show
all viewers the ancient process of woodblock print making as well
as demonstrating his silkscreen art printing techniques.
"While woodblock print making is one of
the most ancient of art forms, many people who come through our gallery
are still not sure exactly what a woodcut is, let alone what goes
into making one. This tutorial will be a lot of fun for viewers as
I'll take them through the developmental process of their conception
and creation." - Michael Montanaro
Both artists will be available at the gallery to greet friends, answer
questions, and most of all to share their passion of creating art!
We at Montanaro Gallery hope you can join us for this free one night
only event!
